A longtime physician in the community will be appointed to the Mrs. J. Avery "Janie" Rush Endowed Chair of Excellence in Women's Health and Oncology.
Dr. William "Rusty" Robinson has been offered the position and, pending signing a final contract, will be officially appointed to the endowed chair, Regional Dean Richard Jordan confirmed Tuesday.
The endowment is the result of a $1.3 million gift from the Rush family and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine, which contributed $300,000 toward the total endowment.
