Joseph "JoJo" Moore

Joseph “JoJo" Moore is an eighth-grader and athlete at Horace Mann Middle School. But his dedication to achievement touches every part of his life.

Joseph "JoJo" Moore: Horace Mann Middle School

Scott Warden, head coach at Mann, states, “JoJo is the type of person who will succeed in anything he does in life. This type of young man is hard to find, but when you meet him your life is blessed."

JoJo loves basketball. Besides playing on the Gold Team for Mann, he also plays AAU basketball for the Tarheels. According to Tarheels Coach Robert Torrence, “JoJo is a born leader and one of my best players. He has a desire to attend the University of North Carolina, and there's no doubt he will be successful in life."

He is on the “A" honor roll, scored commended on all TAKS subjects and was selected as a representative for Texas in the National Young Leaders State Conference in Washington, D.C., and again the following year in Houston. JoJo has also been nominated for the Leadership Academy.

According to Paula Villarreal, JoJo's counselor at Mann, “JoJo is a natural leader on and off the court. I can't wait to read about him and his success in the future."

The Amarillo Independent is proud to salute him as our PowerADE Personal Best Athlete this week.
